Follow Your Heart and the Money Will Come
Dec 20, 2019As entrepreneurs, it's really easy to overthink things.
We want to do things right.
We want to serve our customers in the best possible way, but what I want to share with you today is that the best decisions I've made in my business have come from my heart and not my head.
In fact, this has happened recently. I have a membership which is called Focused and Fearless, and it was growing. I'd run it for 15 months, growing it, nurturing it, creating the content, and it was going to be my signature programme, but something didn't feel right.
We celebrated being together for a whole year. Many of the members had stayed the entire time. I just felt like I wasn't serving at my highest level. My heart was telling me that I could do better, but my head was like, are you crazy? You've built up something that's bringing you in regular income!
Just grow it.
Keep going.
All the gurus were like, just keep going, keep marketing it, launch it, and I just couldn't.
My heart was guiding me in a different direction and this has happened many, many times in my business. The amount of times logic has gone out the window because I just felt guided to do something different. And this isn't me being all woo woo :-) I'm not saying it was a divine download or anything. I was just going with my gut reaction. I knew that the membership I had created was no longer serving at the level I wanted to serve. I wasn't doing everything I could do to help my clients and my members. So in the end of October, 2019 I made the really scary decision to close that current iteration of Focused & Fearless I was saying goodbye to monthly income.
That's really scary when you're approaching Christmas and you've got two kids and you're like, "Oh, I'll just close the thing that's paying me every month!"
What I did instead is I followed my gut, I followed my heart and I've created something that allows me to serve at a much higher level. And it now includes private one-to-one coaching. And here's the thing that's not logical.
For the past year I've been working on scaling my business, doing things that I can grow and increase. And that's what I've been talking to so many people about. They want to grow their business and they want to do things that are scalable. One to one coaching is not scalable. It didn't make any sense, but I knew it was what was right. It was the way I was going to be able to serve my audience in the best possible way, so now I just launched it, if you want to call it a launch.
I just spoke to my audience, spoke to my members and said, Hey, I can do better, and I changed Focused and Fearless to include one to one coaching and it's gone down amazingly :-)
I didn't have a launch strategy.
I didn't do any webinars.
There was no four part video series.
There was nothing.
None of the fluffy stuff that takes hours.
I got on the phone to people and I did a Facebook live to say, this is what's happening and now I am so lit up every single day because I am actually working with the people on a one to one basis. I'm doing group coaching, I'm giving the training they need. I all came from this feeling of I'm not in alignment here. I can do something better and that's the message I want to share with you. I've now doubled my monthly income, so that fear of, Oh my gosh, letting go of regular income was well and truly squashed.
If you hold onto something just because of the money, you're going to stay stuck.
You have got to tune in to what it is that lights you up and how you can serve your audience at the very highest level.
Now that I'm doing that, I have got my enthusiasm back. I am so excited to go into the office every single day and I'll be honest with you, that had gone.
I was really struggling, but now I'm working with people and I'm seeing the transformation and it is absolutely amazing because I followed the feeling, I followed my heart, so my message to my darling, especially as we come to the end of the year is, if you're thinking and trying to figure everything out, just stop.
Think about what you want and how you want to serve in 2020.
Go with what feels right. Do the best for you and your audience. You can't go wrong if you follow your gut and follow your heart, just get out of your head and stop trying to make the logical decision every time. You've got this 100%! As you look ahead to 2020 follow your heart, get out of your head and do the best for you and your clients.
